Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have actually been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was talked to by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines via the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These kinds of items being sold, usually online, have no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the result drugs like this may have on your health."
